Role: Tendering Engineer
Job Type: Permanent

We are recruiting for a full time Tendering Engineer based in our office in Haslingden. The salary will depend on experience and qualifications. Core hours for the role will be 40hrs/week Monday to Friday with additional hours if required. This role has arisen from the expansion of our successful Systems team and represents an exciting opportunity for the right candidate.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have tendering experience as well as a background associated with the design and manufacture of control systems.

Main duties will include:

  • Working closely with the Sales team and engineering specialists
  • Technical analysis of enquiries
  • Commercial analysis
  • Liaising with customers to clarify requirements
  • Estimating costs of materials and labour
  • Producing quotation documents and other supporting materials (GA, schedules, pre-qualification questionnaires) as required
  • Pro-actively monitoring and following-up quotation submissions
  • Carrying out technical handovers to engineering colleagues
  • Working in accordance with company rules and procedures and quality management system

In order to improve the accuracy, efficiency and consistency of tenders, the role will include assistance with development of:

  • A framework of up-to-date supplier pricing
  • Common pricing tools
  • Template activity costing schedule
  • Template tender documentation

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following:

  • Recent and demonstrable tendering experience in a similar industry
  • Good commercial knowledge and experience
  • An electrical and/or controls background
  • Knowledge of PLC, HMI and/or SCADA is not necessary, but would be an advantage
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Good organisational skills, excellent punctuality and timekeeping
  • Excellent eye for detail, particularly in written documents, presentation
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience of working to Quality systems ISO 9001

During busy periods, the role would be assisted by other engineers, but also there would be an expectation for the individual to be able to assist within the engineering team when not busy.

Role: Software Controls Engineer
Job Type: Permanent

We are recruiting for a full time Software Controls Engineer based in our office in Haslingden. The salary will depend on experience and qualifications. Core hours for the role will be 40hrs/week Monday to Friday with additional hours if required. This role has arisen from the continued growth and success of our Systems team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have experience of PLC control systems, incorporating a good understanding of associated regulations, standards and best practice.

Main duties will include:

  • Understanding and interpreting customers’ technical requirements
  • Liaising with customers to clarify requirements
  • Design of controls systems schematics and software in compliance with regulations
  • Procurement of all hardware and software required to build the system
  • Writing and configuring PLC and HMI industrial software
  • Generating technical documentation as required
  • Leading and monitoring workflow in accordance with the agreed production schedule
  • Working with colleagues in the manufacturing team
  • Overseeing delivery, installation and/or commissioning if necessary
  • Working in accordance with company rules and procedures and quality management system

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following:

  • A suitable, recognised industrial software, controls or electrical qualification
  • Recent PLC controls and software design experience in a similar industry, ideally:
    • Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) PLCs and HMIs
    • Siemens PLCs and HMIs
  • Industrial communications experience, such as Ethernet, Profibus, Modbus
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Good organisational skills, excellent punctuality and timekeeping
  • Knowledge or experience of any of the following would be an advantage:
    • SCADA systems
    • Electrical experience
    • Commercial skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience of working to Quality systems ISO 9001

  • Overseeing delivery and/or installation if necessary
  • Working in accordance with company rules and procedures and quality management system

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following:

Role:                Instrumentation Sales Engineer

We are recruiting for a full time Instrumentation Sales Engineer based in our office in Haslingden and covering the North West. The salary will depend on experience and qualifications. Core hours for the role will be 40hrs/week Monday to Friday with additional hours if required. This role has arisen from the expansion of our successful instrumentation team and represents an exciting opportunity for the right candidate.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will have sales experience as well as a background of working with a variety of process instrumentation.

The Instrumentation Sales Engineer’s duties will include:

  • Maintaining excellent levels of business as well as driving increases in sales within your own area
  • Establishing good relationships with customers, proactively informing them of existing and new products and technologies as well as assisting with specification of their requirements
  • Arranging visits with customers to present the company and our products
  • Arranging and/or performing product demonstrations/training with customers
  • Arranging technical services (installation, calibration etc.) where required
  • Providing customer technical support where appropriate
  • Keeping accurate records of customer contact activities and feedback on business potential
  • Seeking new opportunities and applications for other engineering teams
  • Working in accordance with company rules and procedures and quality management system

To be suitable for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Recent and demonstrable experience of successful product-based sales
  • An electrical or mechanical background in process instrumentation, particularly temperature, pressure, flow and level devices
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • The ability to develop good working relationships with customers
  • Good organisational skills, excellent punctuality and timekeeping
  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points
  • Experience of working to Quality systems ISO 9001

Business expenses will be reimbursed and the role has an associated company vehicle, mobile phone and laptop etc. Demonstration products would be available where necessary.
